JOANNEUM RESEARCH Forschungsgesellschaft mbH (JR) is Austria's second largest independent research organisation, owned by the state of Styria, Austria. JOANNEUM RESEARCH and the Bioenergy NoE

Bioenergy research and development is conducted in the Institute of Energy Research by approximately 25 dedicated scientists and technicians. The Institute is a recognised leader in climate change and small-scale bioenergy systems, with over 15 years research experience in both areas.

For the Bioenergy NoE, Hannes Schwaiger leads on Integration Action 4: Environmental bookkeeping and the Jointly Executed Research project 4.1: EU-ETS and biomass.
